Phase one of the design work to this 1920s Toronto house consists of a new rooftop addition of a master bathroom. The design emphasizes a sense of privacy and isolation by orchestrating the interior with rooftop views of the tree tops, the sky, and of the protected rooftop deck - achieved using parallel space, volumes, mirrors and windows. While it exists in an intensely urban setting, this narrow room reflects and captures the trees and the sky on three walls through both views and reflections. The materials are chosen for their serenity and reflection of natural daylight. Phase two of the work is a new kitchen scheduled for construction later this year.
