PLANT : Sweet Farm Pond House

This 275 sf pond house contains storage, change and washrooms, outdoor shower, and kitchenette/bar. Its dialogue with the landscape is active at all planes: the west end dissolves to reveal the shower; a hole is punched through the centre of the building to take in the landscape, a planted roof softens the edge to the sky and the linearity makes the building both a razor thin edge, and a substantially grounded wall. Construction is scheduled to commence in late 2002, once the wood harvested from the site is seasoned.
