Work in this typical semi-detached 1920’s Toronto house included ground and basement floor remodelling and a vestibule addition. The basement now includes a newly finished playroom, laundry and storage. The substantially altered dining room and new larger kitchen window, lower vestibule, and basement stair relocation allowed for maximum light into the kitchen and spill-over into the dining room. The vestibule addition added necessary storage, a weather lock, and a graceful entry to the garden. The renovation frames and highlights an extensive art collection that includes a large collection of Central American folk art and masks – the colour palette is strong but balanced, to create a dialogue with the art.
