This tiny vestibule (38sf) slipped under an existing roof overhang recognized the side door of this corner house as the true entry. The addition visually refers to the original mid-century house design that had been undermined by previous additions. Though the addition is small, it commands a larger spatial presence through the exterior storage bench (which is continuous with a flip up interior bench) with wood screen, and the cladding of the existing column. One of the large windows is faced with an operable wood screen to make the interior feel less on display. The interior has lots of shelving and a wood clad wall. |
