superlegible

Superlegible furniture, like many of our projects, uses recycled materials. It was a prototype commissioned for exhibit by Toronto’s Design Exchange entitled New Landscape: Design Transforms Canadian Furniture, to address sustainability in furniture. We harvested discarded material – newspaper – treated it as raw material, and explored its’ aesthetic and structural possibilities – transforming it from everyday reading object into a textured typographically fragmented cellular structure. Here, we examined our cultural attitude to trash.
