This large multi-level deck provides the primary useful outdoor space in this very shallow backyard. The deck steps down to meet the ground, and the bulk of the deck conceals a mound of dirt left by the house builder. Built-in planters define its edges and help create a distinct dining and lounge area, as well as provide privacy from neighbours. A predominantly horizontal stepping aspect is used to help root the very large intervention with the ground.
