Shrubbery Forest
|
This second phase of development of the long-term master plan for a Toronto school focused on the greening of the main playground. Greening concepts which had been previously introuduced with the reinvigoration of the street frontage were carried to the rear of the site to green the activity zones of the scho0ol and augment the potential for exterior teaching: a classroom of logs set into a hill, a shrubbery forest, an island made of tree stumps, a spiral brick maze and a maypole. These activity areas are connected with rock walls and slithering paths.
